The Bible
We believe that:
1) The Bible was verbally and plenary inspired by God in the original writings (2 Tim. 3:16,17; 2 Pet. 1:20, 21).
2) The Bible is inerrant (Mt. 5:18; Psa. 119:89).
3) The Bible is the final authority in faith and practice (Isa. 8:20; Acts 17:11; Psa. 119:128).
1) The Bible was verbally and plenary inspired by God in the original writings (2 Tim. 3:16,17; 2 Pet. 1:20, 21).
- “Verbal” means that the very words of the Scripture are divinely inspired.
- “Plenary” means that every part of the Scripture is equally inspired.
2) The Bible is inerrant (Mt. 5:18; Psa. 119:89).
- “lnerrant” means that the Scripture is without error in the original manuscripts.
3) The Bible is the final authority in faith and practice (Isa. 8:20; Acts 17:11; Psa. 119:128).
- “Authority” means that the Scripture being the divine expression of God’s will has the final say concerning what we should believe and how we should conduct ourselves.
