The Bible Way to Heaven
Jesus Christ, while He was on earth, told His disciples that in His Father’s house there are many mansions. His home is heaven, and He was going to His Father’s dwelling place to prepare a place for all His followers, so they could be with Him forever. One of His disciples, Thomas, asked the Lord how he could know the way. Jesus replied:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6
By this, Jesus is telling us that to be on the way to heaven, we must receive Him as our personal Saviour. Here are the steps to receiving Jesus as Saviour:
1) Acknowledge that we are sinners before God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” – Romans 3:23
2) Recognize that God will punish sin.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
3) Believe that Jesus Christ died to save us from the penalty of sin.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
4) Realize that salvation is a gift from God, to be received by faith.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” – Ephesians 2:8
“Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:9
5) Hear that Jesus is calling sinners to repent and believe the Gospel.
“And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.” – Luke 5:31
“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” – Luke 5:32
“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” – Mark 1:15
6) The Gospel: Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” – Romans 10:9
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” – Romans 10:10
7) Respond to God’s invitation: call upon the Lord and receive Him as your Saviour.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”- Romans 10:13
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” – John 1:12
If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you can pray sincerely from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I believe You died for me on the cross, were buried, and rose again on the third day. I receive You as my personal Saviour. Forgive me of my sins and save me. Help me to live faithfully for You from now on. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.”
If you have prayed this prayer, Jesus is now in your heart, and you are on the way to heaven.
